Resort Spa Review
The Lodge of the Four Seasons
Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri

Web: www.4seasonsresort.com
Rating:

The Lodge of The Four Seasons championship Golf and Spa is the Midwestern “Jewel”.
Our rating comes as no surprise of the five gold leaves!

Nestled on a hill in the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks and overlooking miles of winding shoreline, the Lodge offers you a comfortable and charming choice for our mid-western readers.

This property offers 303 generously appointed guest rooms, condominiums and suites! Many have beautiful views overlooking the lake, and the famous “millionaires cove”.

The Japanese gardens bring a special sense of peace and tranquility.

When we arrived their many friendly staff members greeted us. We were shown to our rooms located by the most beautiful waterfall grotto!

This was a most complete Resort Spa offering almost an endless list of activities, such as: Boating, water skiing, jet skiing, fishing, and adventure camp for the kids as well as an Arcade “Buster’s II”, and a Cinema featuring a new film each night! That’s not all! How about Trapshooting, Horseback Riding, three different Golf courses, a fitness room, and let’s not forget SPA SHIKI, that is why we came here!

We would recommend at least a five-night stay, just to see the highlighted activities.

After we settled in our rooms, we were given a tour to show us around and then we tried out one of their exceptional restaurant, Toledo’s! A true “fine dinning” experience. They offer gourmet cuisine, and have lighter preparation for the healthy minded.

The next day, we were able to try one of the three golf courses. The Lodge’s signature course “Witch's Cove” that was designed by the legendary “Robert Trent Jones, Sr.” That was a most beautiful course with the breathtaking views of the Lake in the background!

After Golf, we headed to the Spa Shiki, where we were given a tour and allowed to familiarize ourselves and have time to prepare for our treatments. We both choose to steam prior to our treatments to help to relax in time to get the most out of our treatments. The amenities were exceptional; they offered spa robes and slippers as well as lockers.

Our female reviewer tried the “Green tea Facial”. Green tea is known for it’s natural anti-oxidants, which is suitable for all skin types. The results were noticeably beautiful!
This is a signature treatment here at the Four Seasons Lodge and Spa Shiki.

Our male reviewer received a “Japanese Stone Massage”, and after a round of golf, it was just the right call. One thing our Male reviewer noticed is the skill of the therapist was outstanding!

Each morning we enjoyed breakfast and most lunches at the “Breezes” restaurant, offering a lighter fare menu. On this trip we brought some children to test the kid features. As expected, The Lodge of the Four Seasons passed with flying colors! From ages 6-16 they managed to find something to do for each gender. With the two pools, a Cinema, Buster’s II arcade (with soda fountain), golf, trapshooting, fishing, horseback riding, Kids Club, and tennis courts to entertain them; the kids even managed to meet new friends that they played cards with each evening in the waterfall atrium.

The next day brought more adventure with more golf at “Seasons Ridge”.
Incredible scenery! This was yet another championship golf course with panoramic views of the Lake.

This time after golf we tried the HK’s Steak House (named after the founder of the Lodge of Four Seasons, Harold Koplar) where they offered exceptional dining. This restaurant overlooks “Witches Cove” the first golf course we played.

Treatments at the Spa

Back to the spa for more treatments! This time our female reviewer tried the “Ginseng Body Wrap”. This treatment begins with a body brushing, followed by the extracts of ginseng and ginger applied and massaged into the body and then wrapped for about 20 minutes. While the emulsion is being absorbed into the skin she received a scalp and hand massage. When treatment is finished the emulsion is allowed to remain on until the next bathing. The skin was glowing!

Facilities at the Spa

Our male reviewer received an “Asian Shave”; this is signature treatment at the Lodge of the Four Seasons. This exclusive shaving cream with shea butter softens and smoothes the skin for the closest shave possible. The men’s facial is finished with this shave.

The next day we were off for a two and a half hour trail ride on horseback through the State Park. This is organized by “Guest services”, located just 15 minutes from the Resort. This is a must see. Our trail guide “Tabitha”, was very helpful on our ride and made it a most pleasurable experience. We saw a mother deer and her baby, as well as the beaver pond in a cove of the Lake of the Ozarks.

We returned for more treatments. Next was a Swedish massage with Patrick. This treatment was perfect for the sore mussels after the ride. Our female reviewer finished up with the “Spa Shiki Pedicure”.

This resort had something to offer for everyone and was completely contained down to a nightclub with live entertainment (serving 200 different martinis), shops, and even a Convention facility for businesses to book meetings or conventions for groups of 20-1,300!

No matter what you have in mind for a vacation or business, this Resort/Spa can handle it all and you wont miss out on those great treatments and good health regimen’s you are trying to maintain.
