Down on Main Street,
in the Dr D. T. Porter Building, of Memphis Tennessee, you'll
find Rachel's Salon and Day Spa.
It is located next to a beautiful city park with large
windows to view the park from the salon side of the spa.
The city trolleys run in front of the building but, it
is only a few hundred feet from the Madison Hotel and only
three short blocks from the Peabody hotel.
We arrived at our appointed time
of 9 AM and were greeted by Rachel Hill, owner and name-sake
of this fine Salon/Spa. She gave us a tour of her facility
before we started our treatments. Her Southern hospitality
was duly noted as she invited us to make our selves comfortable
as she attended to retrieve our esthetician and massage therapist
for our scheduled.
This facility, years ago, was one of the many banks in
the Memphis downtown area. Rachel makes light of this as
she escorts us to our treatment rooms. She says, "We
keep the beauty secrets in the vault."
Our female reviewer received
their Firmative Action Deep Tissue Massage.
Just what was needed after weeks of stress from the daily
grind. Therapist, Ruby is an AMTA member and showed great
skill and informed the reviewer of all the procedures prior
to the beginning of the the treatment. Our reviewer reported
an effective and relaxing session from her treatment. She
received hydration after the treatment.
Our male reviewer received their Essential Facial
with Eye Zone Wrap. This includes a cleansing
, exfoliation, masque and moisturizer to the shoulders,
arms and hands. The esthetician, Kandie was skilled and
set the mood for the relaxation with soothing background
music and a selective process of aroma therapy by the
reviewer.
The entire process lasted about an hour and was followed
by re hydration. The reviewer reported an extremely relaxing
and rejuvenated feeling to the treated area.
The products used were first class with the majority of
the products used at Rachel's being the Aveda product
line.
Rachel's pledge to being "committed to exceeding
