Arsenic & Old Lace Built in 1991

There is something about the "Bed and Breakfast" experience that sets you in a mood to relax and gets you reacquainted with yourself. The Arsenic and Old Lace B&B was an exceptional find!

Eureka Springs, Arkansas ranks third in the nation as to the number of Bed and Breakfast facilities within a city's limits. It is ranked number one based on per capita.

We say that this was an exceptional find for various reasons, but the number one reason is that it was built in 1991. This makes this Bed and Breakfast a class act in its own right. It is the best of both worlds; old world charm with modern style construction with quieter rooms and better insulation. This Queen Anne-style Victorian mansion has all the charm of the past and the many benefits of modern construction and appliances.

Debbie and Jens Hansen were our innkeepers and host for this wonderful, relaxing experience on our visit to historic Eureka Springs, AR. We were lucky enough to get the coveted Tree Top Suite. This room has a magnificent view with its 2-story, floor-to-ceiling windows offering an airy and breathtaking ambience.

This room experience is unique from the remote controlled fireplace to the spa shower and jacuzzi for two.

Debbie and Jens recommends two month advanced notice to book this room and now that we've experienced it we know why!

Each guest room is equipped with a bevy of featured care items: luxurious private baths, jacuzzi tubs, spa showers, fireplaces, and private balconies.

Additionally you are provided with bath robes, bathroom amenities, hair dryer, iron and ironing board with the "extra touches" of this Inn which make you feel at home.

All rooms feature phones with data ports, TV/VCR and CD Player.

Simply, marvelous cooking for breakfast and wonderful cookies made by Jens.

The Patio Suite

Several stay packages are available with Arsenic and Old Lace, one which includes a Spa Package of Face & Feet Treatment (facial,head/shoulder/foot massage) at a cost of $80 per person. The combination of a stay at Arsenic and Old Lace with a Spa treatment is a winning combination and comes highly recommended.

The Breakfast is to Die For!

I have to take one more time, here, to exemplify that I wouldn't mind peeking my nose into Jens' cookbook.

Fantastic! You awake to the smell of fresh brewed coffee that awaits you. Fresh fruit with assorted toppings and a very handsome meal indeed including juice of the day.

... and of course those great cookies!

From the artwork on the walls to the tin ceilings to the fantastic cooking. A truly wonderful experience awaits you at the Arsenic and Old Lace in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

We traveled there in February, what the locals call the secret season, it is an added plus in as much -there was less traffic and a synergistic peacefulness to this historic town nestled in the hilly woods of Northern Arkansas.
